As you know, two separate but identical bills have been filed in the Texas Legislature to license roofing contractors.

In the Texas Senate, the powerful chairman of the Senate Business and Commerce Committee, John Carona, filed SB 311.  Chairman Carona represents a portions of Dallas which were heavily impacted by the 2012 hail and tornado events that ripped across the Metroplex.

In the Texas House of Representatives, decorated war veteran and Dallas native, Kenneth Sheets, filed HB 888. Rep. Sheets also saw first-hand the tremendous impact of the 2012 tornado and hail storms with a large portion of his district seeing impacts from the storm, including his own home.
