The first step is to send in a BOLO (Be On Look Out) report. This report is a Theft Alert to Law Enforcement. These reports are sent to the state police who take these alerts and send them directly to the computers in the squad cars as long as they are in the correct format. The reports must have the police agency and report number. Building materials such as shingles, lumber, etc. are considered cargo. Send in a BOLO even if no vehicles are stolen. It is important to call your local police department and to send in the BOLO immediately. The police have a limited window of time to accomplish important tasks such as obtaining warrants. Click here for the BOLO form.
The second step is to send this Bolo Report to NTRCA. We are compiling information to increase awareness of this problem with fellow suppliers, law enforcement, the media, and the public. Send this report to karen@ntrca.com.
