It's Time for Golden Hammer Awards -- You Can't Win if You Don't Apply

The Golden Hammer Awards Program brings annual recognition to NTRCA contractor and associate members. NTRCA members will be recognized for their significant contributions to the roofing industry at the annual Awards Banquet on February 17, 2024, at The Social Space in Fort Worth. ​ Eligibility

  1. The project must have been completed in 2023 to be eligible for entry.

  2. The application must be completed by a Contractor Member of NTRCA. Associate members are welcome to assist with the application.

  3. The NTRCA Contractor Member applying for the award must be a current member of NTRCA. They must also hold the warranty for the labor on the project.

Read through this information and gather everything together before you start on the application. Choose the appropriate category for your project:

  • Outstanding Residential Project (Shingles or Synthetic, but not Metal or Tile)

  • Outstanding Commercial Project

  • Outstanding Community Service Projects

  • Outstanding Metal Project (Metal or Stone-coated Steel)

  • Outstanding Tile Project (Slate, Clay, or Concrete)

  • Innovation in Roofing (Green, Turret, combined materials)

  1. Title your project as you would like to see it listed on the award (i.e. Rome Street Project, Chase Bank Building, etc.)

  2. Describe the size and scope of the project.

  3. Write a 200-500 word description of the project. Your entry should demonstrate one or more of the following: logistical challenges, quality workmanship, uniqueness, difficulty, time constraints, innovative solutions, safety challenges, or anything else you feel caused your projects to be unique. Our judges actually read this part -- so take a few minutes to tell us about your project.

  4. Include up to 9 photos of your project -- 2 BEFORE photos, 3 DURING photos, and 2 AFTER photos Photos MUST be high resolutions .jpg files – at least 300 dpi. The photos must show the awareness of safety when recording their activities. If the project requires fall protection; it should be used. There should be no ladders not tied off, the site should be in order, and the workers should be equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) as called for given the task at hand.

  5. Include the NTRCA associate members who helped you with the project. You can also include others who helped as well (We consider associates as manufacturers, suppliers, architects, roof consultants, etc. See our full list of associate members at https://www.ntrca.com/associate-roofing-partners)

  6. Got some amazing documentation you think our judges should see? Attach it, but be kind, and don't add an entire novel as we have a lot to read. A .pdf file is preferred, but we'll look at whatever you include.

Deadline The deadline for entries is December 11, 2023. What Happens to Entries?

  1. Entries are screened to verify eligibility.

  2. Recognized industry experts serve as judges and evaluate each entry. Want to see the judging rubric -- CLICK HERE

  3. The highest-ranking entries in each category will determine the winners of the Golden Hammer Awards.

  4. The decisions of the judges are final, and scores for individual entries will not be disclosed.

  5. Failure to follow application guidelines can lead to disqualification.



TIPS FOR COMPLETING YOUR APPLICATION

  1. Gather all your information before starting. Consider typing your information in a document before you start.

  2. Open the application window and finish the entire application all at once -- if you have to walk away from the application, leave the window open to come back later. Or click submit and then follow up with Karen@ntrca.com to add what you forgot.
