2023 Board of Directors and Award Winners at Awards Gala

On February 25, 2023 at the Westin in Southlake, the NTRCA announced this year’s 2023 board of directors and roofing award winners for 2022 projects.


The Industry Leader of the Year honor, the NTRCA’s most prestigious recognition each year, was awarded to Kirk Scott, owner/president of Scott Exteriors.

The Associate of the Year honor was awarded to Robert Curtis, owner of Curtis Sales Associates.

The 2023 NTRCA board members were also sworn in during the NTRCA Awards Banquet.


The NTRCA board officers for 2023 are:

  • President: Craig Rainey, executive vice president/owner at Supreme Roofing

  • Past President: Carolyn Coleman, president at Tice Enterprises, Ltd.

  • President-Elect: Tina Hall, CEO at Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting

  • Treasurer: Scott Shaeffer, account manager at Roadrunner Roofing Supply

  • Mike Fronczak, managing partner at ABC Supply Co.

  • Sean Seymour, territory sales representative at IKO Industries

  • Darren Williams, president/CEO at IntegriBuilt

NTRCA Golden Hammer Award winners were also recognized during the event. NTRCA’s annual Golden Hammer Awards acknowledge outstanding roofing projects completed during the prior year. Entries are judged yearly on logistical challenges, quality workmanship, uniqueness, difficulty, time constraints, innovative solutions, and safety challenges.


Contractors selected to win this year’s Golden Hammer Award for Commercial Community Service projects were: Texas Select Construction for its First United Methodist Church Garland Project (with support from ABC Supply and Owens Corning); and Empire Roofing for its St. Philip's School and Community Center Project.





Contractors selected to win this year’s Golden Hammer Award for Residential Community Service projects were: PROCO Roofing for its Hillcrest Community Project (with support from ABC Supply, GAF, the Colleyville Lions Club, the Southlake Centennial Lions Club and the North East Tarrant Lions Club); and Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting for its 6 Stones Community Powered Revitalization Project (with support from Roadunner Roofing Supply and ABC Supply); Texas Vets Roofing Inc. for its Roof4Vets Project (with support from SRS).





Commercial Contractors winning a Golden Hammer Award this year were: KPost Roofing & Waterproofing for its Skyview 6 American Airlines Hospitality Complex (with support from HC Beck, and HKS); The Tom Drake Company for its Return of the Unicorn Project (with support from ABC Supply and CertainTeed); and SPS Roofing Inc. for its Lincoln Centre Tower 1 Project (with support from ABC Supply and GAF).




Residential Contractors selected to receive a Golden Hammer Award this year were: Blue Angel Roofing & General Contractors for the IKO Armourshake Restoration Project Project (with support from IKO and SRS); Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting for its Pearson Residence Project (with support from ABC Supply and CertainTeed); and Ramon Roofing for its Woodthrush Project (with support from Polyglass USA Inc. and Spec Building Materials Corporation).




Contractors selected to receive a Golden Hammer Award this year in the Residential Metal Roofing category were: Craven Roofing & Construction for its Roof Hugger Project (with support from ABC Supply, Wallis Foam and Mueller Buildings); GreenLeaf Roofing for its Lake Granbury Log Cabin Project; Hart Construction for its Transitional Modern Metal Roof Project (with support from H&R General Construction and Polyglass USA Inc.).




Contractors selected to receive a Golden Hammer Award this year in the Commercial Metal Roofing category were: PROCO Roofing for its Legacy Church of Christ Project (with support from SPEC Building Materials Corporation, ABC Supply, Rental One and Berridge Manufacturing Company); IntegriBuilt Roofing for its Ferro Apartments Project (with support from GAF and SRS); Joe Hall Roofing & Contracting for its Mount Olive Baptist Church project (with support from SPEC Building Materials and Tri-State Steeples).



Tile Contractors winning a Golden Hammer Award this year were: HARO Roofing for its Shoreview Project (with support from Roof, Tile & Slate); and H&R General Construction for its Guevara Slate Select Project (with support from Velco Construction, Superior Gutter Systems, Slate Select, Inc. and Polyglass USA Inc.).


Contractors selected to receive a Golden Hammer Award this year in Green Roofing were: Spark Solar for its Shingle Project; KPost Roofing & Waterproofing for its Nash Lane Project (with support from Euroshield).
